Meet Mr. Rudy and Mr. Henry! This pair of senior boys are very sweet and easy going. They LOVE their blankets and are quite content napping the day away as long as they are snuggled up.
Henry is 15 years young. He is very physically capable and shot up the stairs as soon as he was in his foster house. He even knocked down doggie gates to get into other rooms! He is house broken and also knows to use a piddle pad. He used a belly band when he first came to his foster home, but no longer needs it. He is quite a foody and could use to lose a few pounds. He sleeps very well in bed with his humans and doesn’t kick or hog the blankets as long as he is near you. Henry has a very high prey drive, and went on a hunting frenzy after spotting his foster family's miniature hamster. It would probably be best if his furever home didn't have small pets, or kept them safely out of his sight. He also can be a little protective of his toys, and frequently likes to see how many things he can carry in his mouth (see the photos - it's a lot!).
Rudy is a little more anxious than his brother, but seems to be fine when given time to decompress. He likes to sleep with his humans. He is also house broken and goes to the door when he needs to go out, and can use the piddle pad. His foster mom used a belly band for the first day when he marked a few spots, but after that first day he seems to be doing okay. He doesn’t like climbing anything - stairs or even a 6 inch dog couch - so please make sure your home is free of any challenges for him! Rudy LOVES food and enjoys frequent treats from his foster mom (since he doesn't seem to put on weight from them).
Both Henry and Rudy love walks and car rides. They've both gone to work with their foster parents at their store, and they interact well with the customers there.
These boys do fine with other dogs their size, but Henry was attacked by a larger dog which means large fur siblings are probably a no for him. Their foster home does not have small children or cats, so we do not know how these two will do around them.
Do you think you could give these two great guys a wonderful retirement home? If so, please apply today or let us know if you already have an application on fi
