Chewy was found on a doorstep and turned over to animal control. He came to Dachshund Haus Rescue the first week of December. He doesn’t have an official name yet, but his foster mom thought he looked like a Chewy since he looks a little bit like a Wookie. He appears to be about one and a half years old. Right now he weighs 10 pounds - the perfect size for snuggling! He has a great attitude and is a snuggle bug.
Chewy gets along well with other dogs. Since his foster home is cat free we're not sure how he'd get along with them. We also don't know how he'd get along with kids, but since he's so tiny he would probably do better with older kids. He loves to go on car rides! When he eats he prefers to graze. He's also housebroken and doesn't seem to mind a crate. So far he hasn't done much chewing at his foster mom's house. Chewy is very high energy when he is going and down for the count when he isn't. He would make a great only pet or with another playmate. He loves his foster fur siblings, but they aren't young enough to keep up with his playtime. Chewy also knows basic commands and loves to play fetch!
He will be neutered on Tuesday, December 11 and will be available after that day.
